Don't Roll, Use Balance and Control ** Positioning Is Everything
Просмотров 7254 месяца назад
Here's a couple of hints on how to help stabilize yourself while scuba diving. Proper positioning can make all the difference between feeling like you're out of control and you being one with the water. Think like a fish u/w and not a people (Human). Use some pool time to help condition yourself. Thanks for watching ! Bob C

Excellent 👌👍 presentation Bob! Thanks 👍
Glad you liked it Pulpo ! Thanks for watching Bob C
Cool Doxa Bob!
Thanks Much ! The Doxa has been my favorite timepiece since 1971. The others like Rolex, Omega, Brietling, etc. just don't say diving like a DOXA does. If somebody is wearing a Doxa you pretty much know they know diving. Best regards, Bob C
@@DiversSupplyYT agreed. I dive with a Seiko or a Tudor. Doxa is def on my list!
Love my slap strap. Be using one for decades.
To me all new divers should get their Mask, Slap Strap, Snorkel, Fins, Booties, mouthpiece and Mesh Dive Bag... BOOM You're ready to go. Thanks Vader for watching Bob C
I use a strap that I got from my favorite dive center, Koh Tao Divers, Thailand. The strap has the text: DIVING SUCKS - You Into a different world.
Very Catchy I must say !
Put it on 1.5x speed, thank me later!
Leon, You're not the 1st to suggest this.... lol Bob C
how to open the swift buckle..?
Thank you, Bob. This video helped me decide which bcd to buy
Glad I could help ! A number of our shop divers use the Dimension too, Regards Bob C
I wish we had such a great kit, when I was a child. The quality of this set is almost similar to a top scuba set. When I was a child, I choosed cressi, because their mask were tempered glass too, but sets were mostly cheap made. So you never bought a set, it's great this had changed so much!
Can you compare the Carbon with the Aquaride Pro?
I picked up one from yalls Marietta location the other day and love it! btw the lift on the medium is a little under 36lbs (was listed as 160 newtons in the manual)
All the reports from new owners have been very positive like your thoughts ! Thanks Bob C
Great set, of course you don’t waste your money because you can keep it for scuba diving too, even just as a backup mask. Secondly a beautiful color, I love the color mint, it makes the set even more unique! 🫶
You know Ben, when I saw this kit I thought WOW what a nice mask. I've seen some individual masks that cost as much as this entire kit by themselves. Thanks Bob C
Only Downside is, No Rx Option.
Hey there always the stick-on readers or Scuba Optics route... Thanks Bob C

Thanks for your comment. Bob C
How much stress do these put on your legs? I'm 65 now and have very average strength legs. Thanks so much.... Chuck
The Supers can be pretty stiff, the standard Novas might be a better choice. Bob C
How to change the battery please?
Hi OMA, Showing how to change a dive computer battery on the channel, is not something I'm going to do. I'm sure you understand. I'd suggest taking or sending it to a shop with a qualified Tech, so if it was to flood afterwards, it's on them. Make sure whom ever you have work on it, explains how they warranty their work such as this, before you let them do it.
I'm just a snorkel or free dive guy and not good at either and I'm 63 but I enjoyed the video cuz I just found some cheap fins and mask at goodwill and didn't know how the fitting process works , I bought 4 sets for 40 dollars lol, anyway the medium seems to fit me and will try in pool before I go to the Philippines, thank you so much
Right on ! Wow great score on those Goodwill goodies, surprising what you can find at their locations. Travel Safe ! Loved the Philippines when I was there in 1980.. Regards Bob C
3:32 that i gotta see.
Thanks Bob. This is the exact review I was looking for as I am searching for a travel BC. Good to see you're still going strong - I was in your first SDI Scubility class ('15). Thanks for a great comparison / review.
Hey Douglas ! Glad it was helpful. Yes sir, still making it happen. Nice to hear from you. Regards Bob C
I have this BC for a few years now. I had a few issues with its design. First I find it creates a legs up head down position very easily(some web trolls 🧌 suggested I’m making excuses 😮). When I made a video of my buddy having the same issue with his I decided to Halcyon BP. This issue is caused I think because of several issues(my thin body and upper body distribution) with the BC design. Single tank belt adapter. Trim pockets located too high. Too small back plate skeleton. Another issue I had with this BC is the placement of a single air release valve on the left, on the inside of the lift bladder. Makes it frequently hard to locate. The D rings in the shoulder straps are located too high and are too small. Pocket attachment and accessories attachment to the weight insert housing is useless. Overall this BC is good don’t get me wrong but it does need a refreshed design I think to make it great.
I’ve had a paragon for about 4 years and it has been perfect but it doesn’t seem to be fitting like it used to. I seem to be getting water inside now and that’s never been an issue before.
At 9:20, the reason for the screen protector is because Shearwater didn't use a sapphire crystal on the Tern. The Teric has a sapphire crystal, and doesn't need a screen protector because there's nothing on earth outside of diamonds etc. that will scratch it. Why didn't Shearwater use a sapphire crystal on the Tern? Only they know. Cost is no excuse, as there are plenty of very cheap ($100) wristwatches that use sapphire crystals.
Hello Bob, like you explanations but if you can do some videos on neutral buoyancy suit like Sharkskin, Bare, Enth Degree and how they differ from neoprene wetsuit, it would help alot! Thanks
So what is DNA? Other than that very informative. I rented one like the way it breathed. But what is DNA?
Can you do Scubapro Seahawk 2 review. Thanks
Thanks for your videos. I got more information to make the right choice.
Glad I could help Kim ! Regards Bob C
Do they float?
Positive Buoyant ... Thanks for the question. Bob C
This was a really great video on this BC. I was having a hard time understanding some aspects of it just from pictures but your explanation was great. I hope you keep making videos like this for years to come. Your knowledge is appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it ! Thanks for the support. Bob C
Nice Video. Best regards from Germany
Vielen Dank, dass Sie Teil des Kanals sind. Von 1974 bis 1976 lebte ich in Deutschland in der Nähe von Fulda. Beste Grüße Bob C
Dive masters at the recreational level are absolute garbage. They have no idea how to maintain good buoyancy, cannot helicopter turn or backfin, and cannot dive anything other than a single tank. To those that actually want to become better divers, look into GUE Fundies and some form of Advanced Nitrox/Decompression Procedures. As a cave diver, the training needed to be a dive master is sub par and I feel unsafe around them.
just deployed to Guam and on my weekends I've been out snorkeling thank you for your video it helps I might just have to buy the good ones and bite the bullet on this next paycheck because once I'm out in that water it will be well worth it getting to and from shore faster
I ordered Aqualung ABS. Looks like really neat design, can't wait to try it.
Having a side breather really makes donation quicker, I have one on my Reg setup. Thanks for your note. Bob C
Can you use regular OdoBan?
Odoban Dive is can be easier on the laytex in the Neoprene material.
Thank you for the response! That's good to know. I use regular Odoban on my cycling clothing which is made of lycra. @DiversSupplyYT
Thank you very much for the video, I have been looking for a video that talks about the Cressi A1 for some time... Excellent
Glad it was helpful Sergio ! Regards Bob C
I bought the Bare Velocity Ultra 8/7mm Semi-Dry Wetsuit for diving in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, Washington State, Pacific Northwest. The water temperature here ranges from 45F in winter to 55F in summer. My Bare Velocity Ultra keeps me warm down to about 80 feet in winter. Beyond that in the winter, I need a 2/3mm vest underneath my wetsuit. In the summer, nothing else is needed down to 130 feet. It has a Front Zipper Entry, a Built-In Hood, and a 2mm neoprene internal pullover for the front zipper area.
Excellent, the 8/7 Velocity is a very nice piece of gear ! Congrats Bob C
I Infact bought one of these a few weeks ago but the transmitter keeps disconnecting from the computer so its currently away being examined. What size bungee cord does it need? Once i get it back im bungeeing it.
The 3/16 is just a bit too tight, if you have the time to work at it maybe.. 1/8 goes through no problem. Regards Bob C
I would like to try one. Finances at the moment
Like always Bob, excellent 👌👍 product and presentation.
I appreciate that very much ! Regards Bob C
Great video. Great Doxa. Thanks Bob!
It would be great to specify the buoyancy of each fin model. Based on my experience: the Avanti Quattro is a soft fin, slightly negatively buoyant. Many of my diver friends like it a lot, but I find it soft and not powerful enough. The RK3 is a very soft fin, not powerful at all when you need to kick. It's nice for control but lacks power. The Oceanic Manta is my favorite fin; it's an all-in-one honestly. They are powerful, easy to control, and neutral to slightly positively buoyant. They have a tremendous kick in the current. I should note that this is my personal experience in the Red Sea, so it could vary according to the different salinity levels of the water
Great info on your fin choices Frederico. Regards Bob C
Over the years I went through Ceos, Paragon S, Intega and now Zensee Pro. My current favourite is the Zensee Pro with Intega as the backup mask, but all others still live on (which I can't say about masks from other manufacturers). I just leave them in different bags or pockets: Pool bag, wetsuit bag (tech shorts) and drysuit.
Thanks Two for your comments. The Ceos is very popular but the Zensee is catching on. For Open Water I enjoy the Paragon S with it's slight tint. Regards, Bob C
@@DiversSupplyYT The Zensee Pro has the same tint as the Paragon S. It is just slightly more comfortable due to being frameless.
Is that a storm or a storm Max? Big difference
This is a Storm Max, the Storm is more of a bare-foot fin and has the little plastic springy things and are much smaller size for size. Think the Title says Storm Max vs the Thumbnail. Thanks for the note Bob C
Thanks for the presentation. The BC looks complicated. I personally prefer a 'simple stupid' BCD. I've been using Scubapro Litehawk for many2 years and never thought to replace it with another model. Although the look doesn't appeal to most divers, it does the job very well. It comes with two small hip pockets which can only used to put weight. I replaced it with larger pockets and now I can put my SMB, dive hook, and gloves there with some extra space for more items.
Thanks for sharing! All valid points... Bob C
I have 2 15 liter DIN bottles, but also those inserts, and one yoke-bottle do din-regulator adapter. I like the DIN regulators. Much compacter and they come across as a much stronger connection to me. Such 25mm 'bolt' won't be easy to break.
I have been diving the Freedom HD, it's now my backup as I just got the Paragon S. Going to try it out in Cozumel in June
Trevor, Have a great trip and let us know what you think of each of those two masks. Regards Bob C
Got the Tusa Zensee
Let us know how you like it. Bob C
I uses a Genesis Rx Mask. Interestingly Tusa Lenses fit. I like them better. Don't have the Contour on the sides. I wear a -5.5 both lenses. And the Genesis Lenses have a Contour ring cut in them. Causing an Optical Effect in the lower outer corners.
I bought a Tusa mask last year and I love it. Time to upgrade the wife’s mask. Thanks for the great content
Awesome! Thank you! Bob C
Great info!
Thanks for watching Mike ! Regards Bob C
